I had just finished prepping the roast (pork) and getting it on when dad asked 'when will lunch be ready?'

I stared at him and eventually answered 'in a few hours'
he asked for clarification 'how much is a few hours?'
me: well it is a quarter past 9 and usually lunch time is 12 o'clock, though I know you like you lunch early. On sundays you would tradtionally have lunch at 1 o'clock
dad: is that because you have it when you get home from church
me: yes, so you go to church
dad: where is the church?

we are (very generally) catholic so
Me: Spearwood
dad: you want me to spend my fuel to go to spearwood

dad is a tight arsed pensioner afterall
me: yes.
me: well you were in yangebup this morning and you could have gone to one of the churches there but...
dad: they aren't real churches
me: no
dad: and will you come with me?
me: no, I will be cooking lunch
dad: thats nice

remembering dad is a Catholic tight arsed pensioner, he then adds:
dad: you think a Jew is going to spend their money driving to church.

Btw babe that scanner law where it does not scan you get it free, is that supermarket specific or was i too kind in paying for cat food.?

scanning code of practice applies pretty much at all supermarkets. woolies, iga and coles all adhere to it
