McGold for McAustralia
Aug. 24th, 2008 10:48 amthere has been discussion in the news about the cost to Australia per gold medal. the numbers vary, but apparently it is in the vicinity of $16.7 million spent on each gold medal. how many people are there in this country now days? does that mean I have a share in that medal, even if i didn't sit on the couch to watch it?
with this in mind,
rodcub and i discussed the athletes paying it back. surely for every interview they do, they should have to pay back a commission to the AIS. not to be out-joo'd, he suggested selling off out team.
Uncle Tobys Australia - we dont need a boxing kangaroo... Bring back Lisa Curry-Kenny as the mascott...
or:
Weetbix Australia - and then when Weetbix buys out New Zealand, we can enter the Olymics as one country... the Southern Federation of Weetbix. but why stop there... there is a heap of other south pacific nations going cheap.... but then rod pointed out that Weetbix is Santitarium and that there is meant to be separation of church, state and... cereal products..
or (
rodcub 's suggestion) McAustralia - and think of our McWeightlifing McGold McTally
oh and who said the Olympics aren't interesting...
