May. 20th, 2008 06:25 pmok here are the average odds for the success of the participants in semi final 2:
1: Iceland - Euroband, It's My Life - 74.1
2: Sweden - Charlotte Perrelli, Hero - 9.7
3: Turkey - Mor ve Ötesi, Deli - 27.8
4: Ukraine - Ani Lorak, Shady lady - 4.8

6: Albania - Olta Boka, Zemren e lame peng - 93.7
7: Switzerland - Paolo Meneguzzi, Era stupendo - 66 (oi, this song deserves better than Sweden, turkey or Ukraine)
8: Czech Republic - Tereza Kerndlová, Have some fun - 340.5
9: Belarus - Ruslan Alekhno, Hasta la vista - 142.9
10: Latvia - Pirates of the Sea, Wolves of the sea - 35.1 (again: this song deserves better than Sweden, turkey or Ukraine)
11: Croatia - Kraljevi Ulice and 75 cents, Romanca - 112.4
12: Bulgaria - Deep Zone and Balthazar, DJ, take me away - 33.2
13: Denmark - Simon Mathew, All night long - 130.9
14: Georgia - Diana Gurtskaya, Peace will come - 75.1
15: Hungary - Csezy, Candlelight - 160.6
16: Malta - Morena, Vodka - 95
17: Cyprus - Evdokia Kadi, Femme fatale - 234.9
18: FYR Macedonia - Tamara, Vrcak and Adrian Gadz, Vo ime na ljubovta - 264.1
19: Portugal - Vânia Fernandes, Senhora do mar - 62.1
in saying all this though, I must note that the odds have change heaps since my last post on odds, in fact some I started calculating last night and had to adjust today after they change so significantly, like the favourite from this semi has changed from Sweden to Ukraine, seriously though, who puts money on this shit.
so with Ukraine as favourite, I will mention that they were one of the faves last year, but in 2004, not only were they one of the faves, but they were the winner. so anyway this is about as good as the Ukraine gets:

Then again, how bad can a dance competition be? (probably fatal words)

they each got to do two dances of about 3 min in total and well I am not a dance expert, but I enjoyed it... not as tragic as normal Eurovision though

Date: 2008-06-06 03:29 am (UTC)Interestingly enough, and the festivals we run we often show a dance to some music labeled "Zorba dance tune" - I didn't know where it was from (though I wouldn't be surprised if we picked it up in Greece). It's danced by people in that shiny silver air condictioning ducts, so it looks like giant slinkies dancing. We were teaching a few locals how to do it just last week.
There's that and the sharing dance, which is more aimed at kids - where some people fight over balloons, but in the end start to share (it's always more fun, to share with everyone).
So when it comes to dances, I've probably seen worse.
