Well, this is… different…. Ok it becomes the same but it sounds like chickens are the new must have for Eurovision. It is not bad for chickens though.

Loopers are going to be a future issue for the EBU. Allowing artists to use loopers means parts of a song can have more than 6 vocal layers and considering you can only have 6 people on stage and no pre-recorded vocals. The first part of this song is the recording of the loop vocals. It makes for a weird intro to the song but it is the future of Eurovision

Israel likes pushing the boundaries of Eurovision. Sometimes it is about seeing how political they can get and this year it is about how many commercial messages it can add. Pikachu, Wonder Woman and Barbie are all mentioned and this was once against the rules. In 2012 San Marino needed to change some of the lyrics of their song. In 2016 Australia argued Face Time as not the commercial FaceTime, though in the context it was used in “Sound of Silence” it could not be much else. So I guess rule 1.2.2g is broken now.

Parts of the promotion clip make me think this song is intended to be satirical. It has elements of Ireland from 2008, or maybe I am confusing chicken with turkey but Israel sent satire in 1987, so it is not unheard of.
