emails to schools
Sep. 28th, 2012 05:32 pmtoday I have sent two emails to private schools because their little princesses were on priority seats on crowded trains. I thought Santa Maria was bad this morning, but Mercedes did better them....
to Santa Maria College:
I just thought I would email you again (I believe I emailed you at the start of the term) about your students use of the train
Today I got on at Cockburn and two of you precious young ladies boarded just after me and went straight to the priority seat and sat down. Quite a number of people boarded after them and they did not offer any one their seat, not once
More people boarded at Murdock, and yet they still remained.
The did get off the seat at Bull Creek, but only because that is where they were disembarking. as soon as they got up, two much needier, older passengers took their seats.
I watched this from half way down the train. If I was any closer, I would have told the girls to get up for other passengers.
Perhaps a reminder of how thier actions reflect on your school may be required over the holidays so that when they return for term four, they behave more like the ladies I assume you are trying to develop.
Thankyou.
even better, to Mercedes:
I am not sure which I am more offended by
1) that your 'Ladies' were seated on the train while adults were standing
2) that the girls were on priority seats
3) that they were consuming what appeared to be thick shakes on the train.
I am sure that you will communicate with your students after the holidays how the community expects them to appear on a train, especially when they are using a 50 cent fare.
