Eurovision 2018: Georgia
May. 3rd, 2018 08:18 pmAppearances: 10
Wins: 0
Selection method: Internal selection
Vote: The fear Russia will interfere in the vote means Georgia decided to internally select this crap
Winner: Ethno-Jazz Band Iriao
Song: For You
This song stars off being background music is a ritzy hotel then turns into a movie score, before finishing as an airline ad. This song tries to be everything and finished up being nothing, which is exactly what the bookmakers think of this song, its nothing.
(Ethno-Jazz Band) Iriao are listed as a 7 piece, but they have reduced the band to 5 ‘for Eurovision’ (If you were one of the two left out would you return after Eurovision?). Iriao uses traditional Georgian polyphonic singing. If more than 3 vocalists are singing polyphonic vocals at the same time is that more than 6 vocals? Is that cheating?
There are worse songs in this year’s Eurovision but there are a lot of songs in 2018. This will need an interesting performance and there is not really one possible with this song so it will sadly remain a song people only remember from the album rather than the show.
Performance is what Georgia gave us in 2010. It was a naff song but a good performance.
