Eurovision 2018: Slovenia
Apr. 22nd, 2018 03:53 pmAppearances: 23
Wins: 0
Selection method: National final EMA 2018
Vote: Jury and public vote combined poorly
Winner: Lea Sirk
Song: Hvala Ne
The public overwhelmingly voted Lea Sirk second, but BQL recieved half the jury votes that Hvala Ne finished with, so BQL finished second in EMA for the second year in a row. Their Song showed more Promise for Eurovision, but Slovenia said Hvala Ne to them.
Lea, a graduate from ‘Talent’ show “Bitke talentov” (in 2006 where she made the finals), has made several attempts to go to Eurovision entering EMA in 2009, 2010 and 2017 previously. This ‘yummy mummy’ (she thinks she is) oozes the desperation of young mother who resents her life and wants to be someone, someone cool, someone who humiliated her children, but someone. Why the jury saw the need to inflict the desperate bint with an average song on Eurovision is a mystery.
Between EMA performances, Lea was still around. Lea was a backing vocalist at Eurovision in 2014 for Tinkara Kovač and in 2016 for ManuElla. Neither of which were great songs with ManuElla not even making the Final and Tinkara making the final and finishing 25th of 26
Slovenia has always used EMA to choose their Eurovision entries and the best they have finished was 7th, twice. The First time they finished 7th was in 1995. Maybe EMA is broken or maybe Slovenia just doesn’t have anything good to send to Eurovision
