Russia - 1 Win
Sergey Lazarev - "Scream"

Verses

Romania - 0 wins
Ester Peony - "On a Sunday"

An epic ballad verses a jazz-pop song that is very similar to Latvia's song last year. Ester doesn't articulate her vocals as well as Laura Rizzotto did last year. Hopefully Ester will perform her song better.

Sergey was unlucky to not win Eurovision in 2016, but that's politics. This song is not as good as that song was, but maybe Russia believes that Sergey can win on his second attempt like Dima Bilan did in 2008. With a better song maybe, but then everything depends on the performance and the politics

Neither song is a winner, but out of these two I am going Russia
passionpop: (die bitch)
Latvia - 1 win
Carousel - "That Night"

Verses

Lithuania - 0 wins
Jurij Veklenko - "Run with the Lions"

Trendy hipster music verses a trendy young thing. It is obvious which one is prettier but neither song is a stand out and both are borderline at best to qualify.

Jurij is a talent show graduate who is singing a song that sounds like a 'winners single' from one of those shows. It is a crap song designed to be sold to young girls who part with money too readily. Carousel's song is easier to listen to but also easier to fall asleep to. Different horses so to speak.

Jurij is easier to vote for and easier to look at which is about the only thing that gets him over the line. I am going Lithuania.
