Greece/Grèce
Giorgos Alkaios and friends - OPA
Drunken ethno-pop. There review done, i dont think I need to say any more... but i will because there is nothing like a song that, even if it is the 20th song to be performed (and it is only 13th) you can still sing along with some of the lyrics... well one of the lyrics... OPA!
Giorgos is apparently a reputable 'artist'. His song Sirmatoplegma was a soccer (European football... you know that game where they stuff around on a square pitch and nothing happens for 3/4 of an hour) theme for Turkish team Galatasary... yeah I havent heard of them either... He also wrote a song called Opa-Opa (not to be confused with this song OPA) that was a hit for other people written by him. That song was crap too...
This is the first time in over a decade that Greece will be entering a song that is sung completely in Greek. in the last decade, (2005 to be exact) Greece also had its first ever Eurovision win. This song wont win, and I think most of Europe also hopes it wont because Greece cant afford to host a Eurovision next year, lets face it Greece cant afford to host a bingo night ATM and if Greece wins, who is going to pay for Eurovision... everyone else in Europe thats who... just like Europe contributed to the existence of this song. It is your Song Europe....
Greece has been in Eurovision since 1974, the year ABBA won for Sweden. Why didn't Greece win? What made Waterloo so much better than Greece's entry. Well here is Marinella with 'Krassi, Thalassa Ke T'agori Mou', just in case the 7 points it got doesn't explain everything
