 yeah

so My friend Danielle bought a new mobile. she did this from a warm call sale through Telstra Direct as her contract was near expiry and she needed a new phone (or more her husband needed her hand me down). yesterday said phone arrived and I went over to hlp her set said phone up.

it arrived with a new SIM, she was already with 3G but because their was possibly and upgrade to the 3G SIMs, we activated the new SIM and waited for her new phone to work. after an hour it still didnt work

in the mean time, we had gone to the PO to get a new 3G pre-paid for her husband (yeah he was still on 2G) and came back to activate it (interesting that post paid is dealt with in victoria and pre-paid in the philippines) and this took three calls. interesting that I activated the pre-paid SIM in my frineds husbands name, and when i asked if he consultant wanted to speak with him (the account holder) she said no... slight privacy issue there.

then we had to alloacted the pre-paid to the home serice so they get $10 free credit per month, we spoke to someone in Victoria who was competent. we then had to call the phillipines again to disconnect my friends husbands old mobile, which the first eprson would not do because I was not the account holder. after waiting for a manager for a while and enduring the consultants protests about allowing me to wait despite me saying I was happy to wait all night, the call suddenly dropped out... *shock Horror* this is why I hate the philippines call centres... they have such flakey lines /sarcasm

the third person helped us because we knew all the passwords anyways and danielle is authorised all the accounts and the mobile we were disconnecting, which is the only one with a privacy concern, was in her name anyways, the new number in her husbands name was only getting the cerdit balace transferred to it. HELLO! *sigh*

I got over to danielles at about 3.30. it was now after 5 and her new mobile was still not working, so we called telstra Mobile Faults. quick troubleshooting confirmed we have a DOA phone, it couldnt register network and it wasnt registering the memory card we realised later either. we were given a number to call to RA (return) the phone.

we called this number about 5.30 WST. we got a recorded message telling us that the department was now closed and to call back between 8am and 8pm EST weekdays.

I looked at the clock on the micorwave and I called the number again in disbelief

again the recorded message.

we called 132200 and spoke to mobile faults again. when I explained it, even she (the girl i Victoria) clicked that yes, they should be open if thats the recorded message. she referred ti to her manager who would try to refer it to that departments manager, but advised me to also email telstra

I informed her that I would not be surprsed if Telstra had blocked my static IP from using their webform seeing I have to coplain to them so much. she giggled.

I have emailed them and am awaiting a reply

I will also be going to danielles today to find out what happened when she called Telstra today.

and that is 2 hours so far of my life that I wont get back.

I used to work for Telstra Email and I can tell you that all emails are now answered by Phillipines consultants as well. Yep, I lost my job because it went offshore. That's just the start of my Telstra complaints. :(
