you dont send me flowers...
Oct. 16th, 2008 06:55 pmyesterday at work I was feeling a little mi migraine-y, so I popped a clarinaise... unfortunately i chose the one with psuedueffidrine in it and was a bit... busy and processing quickly for a bit then unable to concentrate for a few hours then nanna nap time for an hour or so after that, in the late afternoon i was fine though
today i got to work and was feeling a bit the same... this time i got the right hay fever meds and so I didnt have so much of the loopyness, however lunch time I was feeling worse. my eyes felt puffy and I sat their commenting to my friend about it. she also complained her hay fever symptoms werent going anywhere fast.
then i went to visit my buds in my old department and on the way past a pod of cubes in the cube farm that makes some random department i have nothing to do with. it is a new pod which is part of a shuffle so no one sits there.
as I approached said pod, I smelt the flowers, I turned to look for them only to see about 5 big white paint buckets filled with huge yellow flowers
anyway chatted to people at one end of the room, went back to my and my friend with hay fever said something in passing and I was like 'well you know why your symptoms aren't going anywhere' and told her about the flowers. in passing i mentioned it to someone else who goes 'thats laura she brings them in every thursday to take to her church. she has been doing that for ages'
ok, now lets go through my medical history.
last year I suffered hay fever alot and this often resulted in my sinuses getting rather bad and me getting sinus infections, to the point where my doctor recommended i see a specialist and the specialist recommeneded surgery, which i had after a week off work. the specilist couldnt find and issue under the knife and just straightened my nose up. i was fine for a month or so and then started getting dizzy spell migraines and a few months later, headache migraines.
apparentely issues have been brought up with 'laura' about her flowers, but she shrugs at them.
today I emailed the floor OH&S reps.
the flowers were removed at about 3pm, after about 4 or 5 hours, possibly more in the office, and how long will the pollen run around in the air con.
I mean it is not very Christian of Laura the Christian to not consider others in her actions, and to not care what effect she may have.
in the mean time, all the times I asked for anti-hystamines for my hay fever, all the times I came back to work and said I was sick with sinus infections, the time I was in hospital adn my managers knew I was getting a sinus operation, no one thought to ask if these flowers, that I didnt know were there because they were in a part of the floor i never usually went near, could be having an effect on me. they are across the cube from my department manager (who is at the opposite end of the department from where I usually was), they had to have known or atleast suspected.
how many others are there in my office who have suffered because of this uncharitable act.
yeah I am bloody well going to kick up a stink about it.

Date: 2008-10-30 03:18 am (UTC)My flat is all dust infested from when we had the fan going under the carpet. And then work is right near both a garbage dump (awesome summer smell, i'm prepared to bet), and a LOT of hobby farms. And across the road from a huge park. Yeah, i don't enjoy breathing much
