this story has been doing the rounds of the various sunday morning sports programs and have to say I am a little annoyed at the suggestion of my team, the Fremantle football club, changing its colours, its logo, its theme song and getting rid of the docker. I dont get it. is this just a marketing exercise to get parents to have to buy their kids the all new freo merchandise for next season? is this more money making from my team?

Ever since the Neesham days I have said that the problem is not the coach, since then a couple times it was the coach, but I still maintain that Neesham was the best coach that Fremantle has ever had. he had to put up with the money grubbing of the managers of the team and he still managed to win games.

it is the marketing people and the management of the team that need to be sacked. it is them that traded good players for money and then brought us back has-beens. It is the money grubbing bastards who kept in contract players in the team to the detriment of new players because they didn't want to have to pay out the has-beens contract. it is these people that have fundraised and taken our money for 15 years to make Fremantle Oval onto an AFL stadium by 2009... and I cant see that happening. I have been to these fundraisers... where is all the money from that by the way?

I am not a Freo member and at this rate, I doubt I will be. I cannot give money to an organisation who will not give me what I want from it. what I want is a successful footy club and Freos marketers and manager will never give me that.

The money is gone, and all those involved are no longer anywhere to be found.

BTW there will be another fundraiser to raise funds for this community service later. Just dump your money into the pit as you go in :)

In seriousness, changing the colours etc is not going to help. The clean out of the hangers-on that played this season to collect another season's payments is a good start. A management cleanout should be done also. keeping the coach is a good thing though, as it's usually not his fault!

This season was odd. I don't recall any coaches getting fired...?
Leigh Matthews left the lions, but that was after the season, and his choice not theirs. and I just can't think of any other changes on the coaching merry go round...

yes... they said from oval was built on limestone, I think it is built on a black hole

mmm it seems most teams have finally realised that the coach doesnt make the team he just helps to build it. if the foundations are crap though, the team wont get anywhere, or they will be north melbourne and stumble at the first hurdle

next year though, I think a few heads will roll... 3 is my bet.
