Spoilers!!!

Spoilers!!!!!!

Well we now have 15 songs for the final and a few songs that were hard done by in this semi. I got 7/10 which is pretty good.

Since the end of the Semi, Norway and Greece's odds have shorted tightening their hold on top 10. Moldova, Armenia, Iceland, Switzerland, and Lithuania have also tightened but they were long odds to start. Ukraine's have come out very slightly (payout odds of 1.51 to 1.57) and Netherlands has gone from 60/1 to 80/1. Portugal has also fallen a bit As the results are always leaked, it implies that Ukraine may not have been top 3... lets hope.

A friend described Ukraine as "Fat Albert and the gang" and I really cannot argue with that. I just want to know why they have car wash machines on stage...

The hard luck story is probably Latvia. They were a very novel novelty song and if they were not in the same semi as Norway and Moldova they probably would have made the final.

Other non-qualifiers were Croatia, Slovenia, Albania, Bulgaria, Denmark and Austria - and Austria were not a surprise seeing Pia still could not get the vocal

Anyways my coffee has now expired and I need sleep

good night.

Most Wins: Estonia 1 (Cyprus 0)
Most Entries Cyprus 37 (Estonia 26)
Bookies favourite: Estonia 200/1 (Cyprus 250/1)

Stefan came to Estonia's attention when he was about 12 when he reached the final of children's talent show Laulukarussell and has since won The Masked singer (Maskis Laulja), and this years Eesti Laul on his 4th attempt. Andromache went to The Voice of Greece in 2015 and was knocked out in the first round of Live shows. in 2017 she worked with famous Cypriot singer/songwriter Giorgos Papadopoulos which lead to some success.

Stefan is sending spaghetti western dance music to Eurovision, which is surprisingly listenable. Andromache has giving us a song with middle-eastern, Balkan, Spanish, and pop tones. It is so pop that it sounds like it wants to break out into a rap, but fortunately does not.

In the end these are both in the very competitive second semi which could leave some very good songs missing out. Andromache's is good, but Stefan is catchy.

This round goes to Estonia

passionpop: (subliminal)
Most Entries: Sweden 60 (Israel 43)
Most Wins: Sweden 6 (Israel 4)
Bookmakers favourite: Sweden 8/1 (Israel 400/1 - 300/1 before first semi was performed)

Michael Ben David, who is known for musical theatre, won the Israeli version of X-Factor, which is used to select the entry for Eurovision. Cornelia Jakobs won Melodifestivalen 2022 on her first attempt as a solo singer songwriter. She wrote "Best of Me" performed by Efraim Leo at Melodifestivalen 2021 which did not make the final and she has performed at Melodifestivalen in 2011 and 2012 as part of girl group Love Generation (Later named Stockholm Syndrome) who broke up in 2016. This makes Cornelia the more seasoned singer though Michael is the bigger performer.

Cornelia's song is not the most exciting song but it is very relatable song about loving someone but the time is not right. Michael Ben David's song appeals to a niche audience which could be described as a large section of the Eurovision Audience. The song is a little over the top though and is in a strong semi

In the end it comes down to how it works on stage. The performer needs a presence and needs to fill the stage without crowding it.  I fear Michael Ben David' will overcrowd the stage without even without dancers, but without dancers he could be messy.

This round goes to Sweden.
