I have been wanting to review Turkey for the past few days, but the link to the Turkish clip has been down on the BBC website, so I am reviewing the next best act, the UK. yeah I know the UK is nowhere near Turkey, but with the very Sertab sound of the UK entry you might think otherwise. so onto Javine - "Touch my fire"

(unrelated song of the evening) Celtic ray by Van morrison

Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales
I can hear the mothers' voices calling
"Children, children, children"

Listen to me! I want to go home.
Listen to me! I want to go home.
I've been away from the Ray too long
I've been away from the Ray too long

I saw the Critisism given to Javine when she won the UK national final and said "thankyou England", So I wanted to make sure all the parties involved in the UK got a fair mention. Getting back to the Song in review, this song gets quite catchy after the 6th or 7th time you have heard it, fortunately you shouldn't have to listen to it six or seven times... just the once in Eurovision will be plenty for most.

I think alot of Eurovpe is still smarting over the war in iraq and alot of other political stuff to give the UK a chance at winning Eurovision for a little while... and when it comes to touching anything, Javine I am not going near that... get someone else to do it Javine - "Touch my fire"... no thanks

Yay!!! I am past half way through my Eurovision Reviews!!! but this will not be my Waterloo... I will soldier on. I finally reach Sweden, the coutry that gave us arguably the most famous Eurovision winners, Charlotte Nilson? no.. Carola? guess again... Herrey's?d'oh 3 strikes your out... anyway this year they have given us Martin Stenmarck - "Las Vegas"

(unrelated Lyrics of the day) Dog in Sweden - X-ray Specs
A dog in Sweden, a man's best friend
Remember all those trends you set
And now you are a housewive's pet
Sit down bad boy, don't bow wow wow
Drink this milk from the sacred cow

My mothers not sacred... what? oh anyway back to Eurovision... the Norwegian entry panned Sweden and claim it wont win (and norway are traditional eurovison voting friends with sweden), though if you saw the way the norwiegian act dressed you would take that comment and throw it out the window. it is not until you listen to swedens act that you realise Norway might be on to somthing. This guy sucks, and not in a good way

I cant get over the feeling that this song was written with the hope of being in a James Bond Soundtrack... it is a little "the living daylights" (as an asside that song made it on a best of James bond CD... WTF!!!). I can't help but think Sweden would have been better off sending Alcazar... even a crapy alcazar song is better than this... surely...

Sweden has a habbit of not getting over the ABBA hump an alot of their entries to Eurovision seem like ABBA clones, not to be outdone Martin Stenmarck makes his reference to the legends of Eurovision with the line "The winner takes it all", and well the rest of the song could be "money, money, money", without Monacco. So I will agree with Norways's Wig Wam and give a thunbs down to Martin Stenmarck - "Las Vegas"
