Selection method: National Final Festivali i Këngës 56

Winner: Eugent Bushpepa
Song: Mall
This is a big ballsy rock ballad. Didn’t Albania try rock a rock ballad in 2013? Didn’t that fail to make the final? Well as they say, if at first you don’t succeed…. Do it again, but better
Despite the bookmakers not rating this song, this song will likely qualify as it is in a reasonably favourable semi for Albania and the song is good. It has the right combination of song, ethnic elements and looks and potentially if this was in English it would be a potential top 10 song with good execution.
Bushpepa (not to be confused with the Mountain or Bush Pepper from Australia) generally shuns the media, rarely giving interviews, which makes him an interesting choice for Eurovision. His lack of publicity will probably hurt the chances of this song, but he is an experienced performer and should make an impact on the night.
The highest Romania has finished was in 2012 with Suus. The recorded version of this was a bit meh, and hard to connect with, but live… this is freaking amazing. This is possibly one of the best ever vocal performances ever on the Eurovision stage.
