Fucking Australia Fucking Post
Mar. 5th, 2008 08:03 pmyesterday Belinda heard a thud outside in the middle of the day. she went out to have a look and Australia Post appeared to have hurled a large envelope over our wall because it couldn't fit in the mail box with the other mail. sure it looks like a 6 foot fence on the outside, but it is 10 foot drop to where it landed. we have a fish pond on our side and it could have landed in there and seeing it was a job offer package, it wasnt nice of them (sure I declined the job, but anyways).
today I found they had done similarly with a DVD i got through amazon. this time they dropped it over the fence and it landed about 4-5 foot from the top of the brick fence. it was caught in some bushes above the mail box
We have found packages all over the place. the other day, some books I had ordered were found just inside the gate. they didnt even ring the bell o tell Bj they were there (the bell is on a post next to the gate). Sure there is a 'beware of dog sign on the gate (which is tiny and barerly readable) but THE BELL!!!. I have now covered the sign with a bright pink piece of paper that says 'DOOR BELL' and then has an arrow pointing to it.
but then again, I know how much aust post pays their staff and well... peanuts and monkeys

Date: 2008-03-05 12:20 pm (UTC)Call their call centre and make a complaint. I did that once when our mail was constantly being carelessly shoved only half in the box (ffs, I went out and bought a big letterbox so that wouldn't happen and lazy postie just couldn't be arsed pushing it all the way in) and as a result was getting soaked by the rain, it being winter at the time. Message must have been passed on, cos the letters were properly shoved in after that. For a while, anyway.
Now I am pissed though cos for some dumb reason the postie has started folding them diagonally and leaves them half sticking out, when the slot is twice as wide as the letter anyway. And in this neighbourhood, I am sure passers-by have probably knobbled some. I know my Nan sent me $50 for Christmas that never arrived, so either the PO nabbed it or it was pinched right out of the box. We had to lie to Nan and say it arrived or else she would have sent it again.
