.we were watching these fires yesterday. were were pretty sure they wouldnt reach us though at my friends in-laws because all the fuel for the fire was burned in the christmas eve fires on monday

we were sitting at work on monday and could see a massive plume of smoke and it looked close so we were thinking south perth. I then got an email from [profile] rodcub  telling me that it was in mandogalup. i firmly believe it was reported as mandogalup just so the writers could say mandogalup, but it actually started in more postans or the specticals, and it as finally put out before getting to homes in orelia. it wasnt untli i read that abercrombie and mclauchlan roads were closed because of the fire, i realised where it was.

this article contained this picture:

that is basically across the road from my friends belvior cres home. her family was watching the fire down the road, and fesa had not evacuated people because they didnt think the fire would jump thomas road which belvior is parallel to... it did. about a minute later the entire bushland across danielles house was burning. the kids were scared and danielle took them inside. Mat stood there with the hose. he watered the gutters and then targetted a tree across from his neighbours house. he was almost against the wall of his house because of the intense heat. the fire sent embers across onto their other neighbours lawn, starting small fires which the neighbours, kim and katie put out. also the tree in kim and katies front yard caught fire, and though it will probably survive, it will be barely.  hedges and other plants on daielles and her neighbours properties were heat damaged and were lucky not to combust. the only tree in the whole bushland area between thomas and belvior that didnt burn was one directly infront of dani and mats house.

It was more luck that no house in orelia (windsor hills estate) were not burnt

if i ever see the little shit that started these fires, i will not only hit the kid, i will hit their parents for not hitting the kids enough to start off with. i hope they catch the kid before i do and lock them away forever

We just had to call the fire brigade and report a fire in a median strip on Marmion Ave ... felt special we did. In 44 degree heat I don't think it's wise to leave even the smallest of fires.

yeah one night after midnight we saw a fire on cedric near the freeway. we went to the train station and reported it to the insecurity and got them to radio it in and get a fire extinguisher onto it. I mean at 12.30am, if we didnt report it, who would... a drunk driver?

I wasn't going to report it, but then thought that if everyone else thought everyone else had reported it, it never would be.
Looked like someone chucked a lit cigarette out the window and it just caught the shrubbery.

yeah thats why we reported it and it was near houses too. it was only scrub, but if it caught a tree, it would be all over red rover

it is typical and another reason to hate smokers
