Eurovision Review: Netherlands
Apr. 25th, 2005 09:04 pmI have always love ther name Netherlands. there is something funny about that name for a country.tonight I do my exposè on the nether-region-s of Glennis Grace - "My impossible dream"
(unrelated song f the evening) Netherlands by Dan Fogelberg
Off in the nether lands
I heard a sound
Like the beating of heavenly wings
And deep in my brain
I can hear a refrain
Of my soul as she rises and sings
Anthems to glory and
Anthems to love and
Hymns filled with early delight
Like the songs that the darkness
Composes to worship the light.
Netherlands sounds lilke a boring place from the lines of that song... and then there is Eurovision, and ever interesting place. it may be and Impossible Dream for some, but Glennis Grace made it there somehow...
I really planned tonights reviews badly... it is the night of the lame ballad, and I am so not in the mood for this crap, particularly when it is sung in engrish. Glennis has a good powerful voice, I am just over the "Idol" sounding songs like this. maybe it a little whiiney Houston... before the cocaine...
Though I wish she would die and rot in hell, this is just my dream for Glennis Grace - "My impossible dream"
"My impossible Dream"
Artist: Glennis Grace
Composer: Robert D. Fisher
Author: Bruce Smith
You ‘n’ me – we’re driftin’ far apart
Our story has been told
Can’t you see – the writing’s on the wall?
I’ve come in from the cold…and I will follow my dream…
I’ll fight the big wide world (CHORUS)
I’ll make it on my own
Against all odds – I’m breakin’ free
The gauntlet has been thrown
My colours have been shown
Now I seek…my impossible dream
Now’s the time
To hold my head up high
Find my identity
I’ll claim what’s mine
No more walkin’ in the shade, yeah
That’s how it’s gonna be…and I will follow my dream…
I’ll fight the big wide world (CHORUS)
I’ll make it on my own
Against all odds – I’m breakin’ free
The gauntlet has been thrown
My colours have been shown
Now I seek…my impossible dream
(REPEAT CHORUS)
