Eurovision Review: Switzerland

There are too many paralells betweens Switzerland and Estonia to keep them too far apart. physically thye are a great distance, alphabetically they are almost opposite ends of the scale, but musically they are brothers. This years Estonian entry for Euovision almost sounds like last years Swiss entry, and this years Swiss entry is an Estonian girl rock band... Vanilla Ninja, "Cool Vibes"

I needed to get a yodel in there somewhere... As for "Cool Vibes" this is the most negative and rockiest song I can recall in Eurovision in recent years. The violin at the start sounds like the intro music to late night vampire series "Forever Knight", which is apt because it is a very vampire sounding song. Then the most emphasised line of the song is "cool vibes – why don’t you kill me?". IT IS JUST NOT EUROVISION!!!

They are a little bit Bangles, a little bonnie tyler but maybe more garbage or something... even a bit like the band Garbage too... it isn't that I don't like this song because you can fully rock out to it, but it is dark horse for Eurovision. it is so different it might just get there, but the traditionalist might be broken.

No I can't get over it... IT IS JUST NOT EUROVISION I TELL YOU!!!!!! It might just be too good for Eurovision which could be the issue with Vanilla Ninja, "Cool Vibes"
