ManuElla - Blue and Red
Wait for it, wait for it… Yes! The big reveal! How many reveals has Slovenia done at Eurovision? It has got to be a few and we ae chalking up another. Thank you Slovenia for being predictable.
ManuElla (as Manuela Brečko) first tried to get to Eurovision in 2012 without a reveal and finished in the top 4. Even with the reveal she only won this Superfinal by a small margin of under 130 votes (out of over 7500). The song that came second was also about colours. Črno bel is Black White in the local lingo. Even though ManuElla’s song is little more than country crap, it is a lot better than what came second
ManuElla’s Wikipedia pages says she was in Season 2 of Bitke talentov (Battle Talent) in Slovenia. Seeing she did not rate a mention on the Slovenian Wikipedia page for that series then one can assume she didn’t make the cut for the top 15. The Eurovision Bio claims she was on Germany’s Das Supertalent, funny she doesn’t rate a mention there either. These failings probably explain why the bookies do not rate this song despite country being successful at recent Eurovisions
Slovenia rarely rates even when they theoretically should. In 1993 there was a pre-eurovision which decided which new countries would perform in the 1993 Eurovision. Slovenia won the Pre-show (hosted on their home turf) but finished near the bottom at the main even. I cannot understand why.
