Eurovision Review: Malta

Great drink, crap song. Well... not totally crap... I think if a few of the lyrics were changed subtly, it could be a really good TISM satire of the club music scene. the clip gives you hope though because you have to wait about 70 seconds before you start to hear how crap the song is.
It isnt any better or worse than what I expect from Malta. Even if it doesn't win, it could possibly be a dance floor hit, but I doubt they will get any points from Russia with the lyrics. the other former USSR countries may give it points though... mmm this could be quite the political song this year because any former USSR countries that give it points, may feel the wrath of Russia and their.... lack of basic food items.... I don't know... can Russia hurt any one now days?
Going back to Malta though, they are famous in modern Eurovision for the europop song. that has a lot to do with the fact that the same writers are winning the Malta Song For Europe Festival over and over, like the guys who wrote this song wrote the entries in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2007 and this year. Gerard James Borg has also tried to get through with songs in Belguim, Norway, Romania, The Netherlands, Iceland and Bulgaria and failed, which I think says something about the quality of the song choice in Malta... or maybe that he only has any success when he co-writes with Phillip Vella. BUt for something completely different and nothing to do with those guys, Mary Spiteri with 'Little Child'... because I liked her name...
