Iru won The Voice Georgia, and it was this contest that was used to select the artist for Eurovision. In many countries The Voice is used to give unknown artists an opportunity for success, and Iru is hardly unknown though after being part of the Junior Eurovision winning group Candy in 2011. It seems unfair that known artists are competing in The Voice, butt when a country is using it for Eurovision Selection, it is fair game, though her participation on Georgina Idol in 2019 wasn't.
Echo was internally chosen as the song, which Iru has a writing credit on, though I am not sure I would want a writing credit on it seeing the lyrics are a bit clunky, to the point of engrish. Iru has a previous writing credit on last years Junior Eurovision song for Georgia, so everything about her entry this year is a graduation from Junior to real Eurovision, as a performer and a singer and though this years song should perform well, I get the feeling this will have 'reveal' of a lesbian interaction a bit like Albania's entry 'Sekret' did last year. Guaranteed this will be a big performance.
Georgia is very go hard or go home in Eurovision, since their first entry in 2007 which finished 12th, to now. Always interesting to watch. Interesting...
