Lithuania has given us a toilet break. If the Jury had their way Lithuania would be giving Eurovision something more uptempo, not necessary a better song but a better performance. It is good to have a toilet break though.
Ieva has been desperate to go to Eurovision for a long time. She went to the national final in Lithuania in 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017. As many singers before her have shown, perseverance pays off and if you go to your national final enough eventually you will be sent to Eurovision if only to get your annoying vegetarian voice out of the country for a few weeks.
The clip and the song seem to imply that when you are old you can no longer have fun. You do all the fun stuff when you are young and when you get older you just meander around. What is meandering age anyway?
In the older days of Eurovision before there were semi-finals, countries would often be relegated after years of poor results. After returning to Eurovision in 1999, Lithuania was not invited to return in 2000. The 1999 song was not THAT bad but….
