Eurovision 2016: Montenegro
Mar. 28th, 2016 02:12 pmMontenegro
Previous Entries: 7 (as a stand along country)
Wins: Nil
First Entry: 2007 Stevan Faddy - Ajde, kroči
Most Recent Entry: 2015 Knez –Adio
National Anthem: Ој, свијетла мајска зоро
2016:
Highway – The Real Thing.
Just for something different, an X-factor winning band. Actually the X-factor factor is not the most worrying thing about this song; it is that the official lyrics sheet is only four stanzas. It looks like a long 3 minutes.
Montenegro has supplied us with the first of this year’s repeat offenders. Bojan Jovović may be in a rock band now, but 11 years ago he was part of a boyband called No Name who represented Montenegro when they were part of Serbia and Montenegro. Watching their clip again, I cannot understand why they didn’t win….
I am struggling to find something to say about the song that the fact that it is dead last with the bookies doesn’t already say. I am hoping that like ‘Igranka’ this will turn out a little better on the night than it sounds in the release. ‘Igranka’ still failed to qualify for the final but it did better than most of Montenegro’s previous efforts
Most Montenegrin songs have failed to qualify for the final, including the not quite leather clad (I am sure that’s vinyl) 2008 performance
