There is no politics in Eurovision. There is no politics… aw FFS how did this get through. This will be booed at Eurovision for being political but at last it will get 12 points from Georgia.
This song was border-line being banned from Eurovision; however it was deemed not to contain any political statements. In 2005 when Ukraine hosted Eurovision the song had to be amended for being overtly political and in 2007 Verka Serduchka was warned about a line in “Dancing Lasha Tumbai" that sounded suspiciously like "Russia Goodbye" . Yes, Ukraine, we get it, you do not like Russia. Eurovision is not the place to advertise that.
This song is currently top ten with the book makers. Ukraine’s Nemesis is still #1 and if Russia wins like predicted, the Ukraine will have to go into the den of the bear next year… or withdraw
Hasta la vista to the days when less political songs would be sent to Eurovision by the Ukraine. I still remember 2003.
