Word of the day:
дискваліфікувати - Disqualify
there is still time to do this to Ukraine
This is a rock song so formulaic that it could almost be a Nickelback song. A band that has been around for over a decade should be able to write better, but it appears not.
Евгений Галич looks younger than his 32 years. Music does not appear to be a hard life in Ukraine and after music there is always a career in politics, just ask former Eurovision winner Ruslana
There is no politics in Eurovision, but maybe… We have a Ukrainian band with a Russian-Ukrainian Lead singer who, though he thinks Russian, says that in the Ukraine people should speak Ukrainian. In saying that he toes the nationalist line. The former PM of Ukraine (the 15th of 16 in under 17 years of independence) once demanded that all road signs be in Ukrainian only, even in the areas that are 90% Russian speaking. Surely the EU corrected them on that idea.
Ukraine is hosting Eurovision 2017 and is therefore straight to the final. The last time they hosted in 2005 they almost had the contest stripped from them. Some things never change.
