2020: Vasil – You
2021: Vasil – Here I stand

Vasil has given us a Disney song and plausibly a toilet break. With his long history of live performance, there is no doubt he can sing it, but the song is a snore and his last years attempted entry was much better.
Despite being internally selected to represent North Macedonia in both 2020 and 2021, the country almost withdrew Vasil after seeing the finalized video for the song. The original video contained what appeared to be a Bulgarian flag, and that is a massive political faux pa. Then it came out that Vasil has Bulgarian citizenship. All this started two weeks before their entry had to be finalised and unfortunately, the North Macedonian broadcaster decided to go ahead with Vasil’s entry. If nothing else, even with the political tension between the two countries it will probably mean 12 points from Bulgaria.
Less controversial was the 2004. It wasn’t very good, it was just less controversial…
